Ezekiel Bread Review

Ezekiel Bread

What is Ezekiel Bread?

My daughter, Nicole, has been raving about Ezekiel Bread for at least two years!  She told me all about the health benefits and she also went on and on and on about how delicious this bread is.  So….when I was asked to review Ezekiel 4:9 Bread, I eagerly said “Yes!”.

Let me say, I was not disappointed.  This is really amazing stuff!  You can buy this bread  at most health food stores and I am finding it at Trader Joe’s. Just look in the frozen food section of the store.   Check out the Ezekiel 4:9 Bread website to find a store near you and for lots of great information about this bread.

When I read the wrapper, I immediately knew that this bread is nutritious.  It is only 80 calories per slice and is a special combination of 6 grains and legumes that are freshly sprouted and organically grown and it is bursting with nutrients. But…like you…I asked myself….What does this taste like????

I put this bread through various tests.  First, I just made hot buttered toast for myself and enjoyed it with my morning coffee.  IT WAS GOOD!

Then I tested it on my family.  We were having creamy tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch so I decided to use the Ezekiel Bread for the grilled cheese sandwiches and I did not tell my family —I just wanted to see their reaction.  It was unanimous!  We all thought the Ezekiel Bread made a delicious sandwich.

Then I featured the Ezekiel 4:9 Bread with my Omelet in a Mug breakfast.  It was a hit!

I also tried it in my Eggs in Toast Nests and I thought the whole grain Ezekiel Bread really added to this dish as well.

Then I tried the Ezekiel Bread in my Skillet Croutons and sprinkled them on my salad for lunch and the taste was incredible!

Ezekiel Bread is completely different from other breads since it contains all natural ingredients, is made from sprouted grains, and it contains NO flour.  Here are some of the health benefits with the Ezekiel 4:9 Bread:

  • Source of Complete Protein – Rated 84.3% as efficient as the highest source of protein (comparable to that of milk or eggs)
  • Contains 18 Amino Acids – Including all 9 essential amino acids
  • Easily Digested – Spouting breaks down enzyme inhibitors so your body can digest them easily.
  • Great source of fiber

While this bread is really nutritious, I have to admit that this was only icing on the cake for me.  I just really love the taste of it!  And what about the scripture verse that inspired this bread….” Take also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet… and put them in one vessel, and make bread of it”  Ezekiel 4:9

Note:  I was supplied with two loaves of Ezekiel 4:9 Bread to try for this review.  No compensation was received.  These are my honest and true opinions.

  1. I like the bread very much. I don’t like the quality control, or should I say, lack of quality control?
I buy a loaf every week to week and a half and it’s a crap shoot on the quality of the loaf. The problem with the past two loaves is the middle 1/3 of the loaf is so dry and crumbly or the holes are so large that half the slice is missing. I have sent pictures and complaints to the company, but nothing is done. It’s a shame. I think for $6 a loaf I should get better quality.
